Throughout summer 2022, a huge range of building enhancement and maintenance works took place across London College of Communication – ensuring that our facilities and spaces continue to be quality learning and making environments for our students.

We invest considerable funds each year to create new spaces and facilities and to improve and maintain our existing ones.

These continual ambitious works are part of the College’s ongoing commitment to ensuring a positive experience for all LCC students – so that you are ready to take on the world of the ever-evolving creative industries as soon as you graduate.

Some of the key improvements across the LCC building this summer include:

  • A complete renovation and redesign of the Information Centre, including a more student-focused layout and new digital screens for information and showcasing
  • The construction of a new, more visible centre for Arts Students’ Union, in the foyer area of the canteen
  • A newly-designed Learning Zone area of the library
  • Enhanced audio-visual facilities in teaching and learning locations
  • The construction of five new professional sound recording studios
  • Building safety improvements, including the installation of chairlifts in the Design and Media Blocks

In addition, we have redecorated more than 80 classrooms; installed new furniture in over 50 classrooms; and also made improvements to our temperature controls, ventilation and fire safety across the site.

These improvements are in addition to the range of enhancements that already took place throughout the last academic year – including the new Digital Print space in the Workshop Block; a new-and-improved Kit Room; an overhaul of the TV studio control room and green room; and brand new teaching and learning spaces in the Design and Tower Blocks.

If you’re using any of the new spaces across the building, be sure to take a photo and post on Instagram, tagging @LCCLondon so that we can re-share!

If you are organising an event or have a project you want to share with students at LCC, email the LCC Internal Communications team at communications@lcc.arts.ac.uk. We can share good news stories, student-focused events, or collaborative projects in the LCC Student Newsletter or on LCC’s social media platforms.
