Undergraduate summer term comes to an end on Friday 18 June 2021, Postgraduate summer term ends on 23 July, and for Further Education students term ends on 25 June 2021.
This article provides guidance on what access different student groups will have to the LCC site and services over the summer break 2021.

General access to LCC site for self-directed learning
There is no general access to the LCC site or course neighbourhood areas for self-directed learning during the summer break from the end of term, except for MA students up to 23 July.
This is because many of our spaces will be under essential maintenance and improvements works over the summer period.
LCC Technical spaces
Postgraduate students
The College’s Technical areas will remain open to postgraduate and MA students from 21 June until 23 July 2021.
Access to Technical Resources will be split into two periods:
- 21 June – 2 July: All postgraduate students can continue to book access through the ORB
- 5 – 23 July: Access only for postgraduate students with negotiated Additional Access
If you wish to access resources between 5 – 23 July, you will be required to submit an Additional Access form.
This form is a proposal outlining the work you would like to create and the resources you would like to access, and will help the technical teams to evaluate whether the resources you need will be available during this period.
To make an Additional Access request, visit the Technical Resources Moodle site, where you will find an “Additional Access” page. All the information you need is on this page, including a downloadable form, and contact details.
No access to Technical Resources beyond 23 July until new term
There will be no access to Technical Resources at LCC beyond 23 July 2021, until the start of the autumn 2021 term.
Graduating (third year) undergraduate students
Technical areas will remain open to all third-year undergraduate students from 21 June – 2 July 2021.
During this period, you will be able to book access to specialist workshop facilities to complete work and to build your professional portfolio. Access to Technical Resources will be bookable as usual via the ORB.
Continuing (first and second year) undergraduate and Further Education students
As per usual, there will be no access to Technical Resources at LCC for continuing (first and second year) undergraduate or Further Education students during the summer break, re-opening again at the start of term on Monday 26 September 2021.
LCC Library and Learning Zone
Libraries and Learning Zones are open to continuing students throughout the summer break.
If you are leaving UAL you can post your library items back for free from within the UK. Use our Freepost returns link to print a label and find a drop off location near you.

Libraries and Learning Zones will offer click and borrow, managed browsing and bookable study from 19 July.

Catering
The canteen will close over the summer break, from 21 June, re-opening on Monday 20 September 2021.
The Typo Café will remain open over the summer break Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm.

During the summer break, from Monday 28 June until the start of term (Monday 20 September), the Information Centre will be operating a reduced service.

Student Status
Student Status letters can be used for Schengen Visa appointments. Log in to SITS and access this letter in the 'My Study Details' tab.
Council Tax
Log in to SITS and access this letter in the 'My Study Details' tab.
Bank Letters
Email letterrequest@lcc.arts.ac.uk. Please make sure you have both the name and address of the bank branch that your appointment is with before requesting this letter from our front of house assistants.
arts shop
The arts shop at LCC will be closed over the summer break, from Thursday 17 June, re-opening on Monday 27 September.
FE term commences Monday 13 September 2021 and HE term commences Monday 27 September 2021 (Week beginning Monday 20 September 2021 is Fresher’s Festival week).
