Peer Mentoring is an opportunity for first year LCC students to seek support and advice from more experienced students. Peer learning supports student transition and progression and is designed to help students feel part of a community, increase academic confidence, agency, and engagement.

LCC Peer Mentors provide support to students on their course in the years below. They help students make connections across different levels of study, support student wellbeing, and promote diverse and inclusive student communities.

Mentors can help students to navigate student-life, work towards learning development goals, and help create learning environments that support a multiplicity of learning styles.

We are now recruiting for new Peer Mentors for the 2023/24 academic year.

How and when do LCC peer mentors work?

Mentors provide support through one to one mentoring and student-led workshops:

  • One to one mentoring is offered through online or face to face meetings
  • Student-led workshops take place on specific units on the course, or as embedded and stand-alone workshops
  • Peer mentors work throughout the academic year

How do I apply?

Students should find out more and apply via ArtsTemps – deadline: 9 May.
