If you've just finished your pre-degree course and aren't continuing your studies with us, there are some things that you need to do before you leave:

IT services

Access to your UAL email account and UAL system ends 150 days after your course finishes.

Once your account expires, you will no longer have access to your UAL email and Office 365 applications, like OneDrive and SharePoint.

Make sure to complete the following tasks before your account closes:

  • Forward important emails and attachments to your personal email or backup your emails.
  • Save any contacts from your Office 365 account.
  • Use your personal email address for CVs, your portfolio and job applications.
  • Save any important files from Moodle, OneDrive and SharePoint.

Your library account

Your library accounts expire before the end of your course but you can still visit and use any of the 8 College libraries for reference purposes.

Please return all your books and digital accessories by the end of your course. You can return your library items to any UAL College library or your halls of residence. If you are not going on to further study at UAL, you can continue to use our libraries for reference after you graduate. Please visit the Alumni and Visitors page for more information.

Student visa application

You can only apply to extend your current visa in the UK if the start date of your new course (as stated on your CAS) is no more than 28 days after the end of your current visa. If the start date is later, you must leave the UK and apply for a new Student Route visa from your country of residence. Once you have returned home, you can use our visa guides to help you prepare your visa application and supporting documents. Contact the Student Advice Service if you have any questions about your application.

UCAS reply deadline

If you’re planning to take up an undergraduate place next year, make sure you don’t miss your UCAS reply deadline. If you received your final decision on or before 13 May 2026, your deadline to reply is 3 June 2026. Be sure to log in to your UCAS Hub and respond before the deadline to secure your place. Find out more information about replying to your offers.

TV license refund

If you are leaving your halls or rented accommodation and moving to a licensed address, you can apply for a refund. You will need to ensure there's at least one month left on your TV Licence and have your details and evidence ready to show that it is no longer needed.
