Introducing Level 1 and 2 Art and Design

Date: 7 December 2021
Time: TBC
Price: Free

As part of our Teach Inspire Create programme of events, we’re excited to present: A spotlight on Level 1 and 2 Art and Design. This free online event will give you the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the qualification and hear from those who design, deliver and study on it. This session is for all centres not currently delivering the UAL Performing and Production Arts qualifications.

Discover our project-driven and stimulating Art and Design qualifications.

  • The UAL Level 1 Award and Diploma in Art, Design and Media are designed to provide students who are intrigued and motivated by art and design with opportunities to explore, develop and test their creativity.
  • The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Art and Design has been developed to provide students with an interest in art and design with the opportunity to explore the materials, methods and processes that support art and design activities, and to begin to develop some related technical skills.

You will hear from current tutors at UAL Awarding Body approved centres who have successfully planned and delivered these qualifications. There will also be a chance to hear from students about their experience of studying this qualification, and the progression routes it opens up to further study and careers within their chosen industry.

By the end of the session, you will have an understanding of:

  • the wide-ranging benefits of this qualification and the different ways it helps students to hone the specific skills needed for progression to further study and their chosen industry
  • how these qualifications encourage innovation and creativity
  • the course overview and delivery.

There will be an opportunity to discuss these elements with our qualification experts in a Q&A session at the end.

The structure of UAL Awarding Body’s Art and Design qualifications enable us to deliver an engaging further education curriculum from levels 1– 4. The qualifications provide all students with opportunities to develop new skills and techniques, work in a curious and experimental manner, and be able to make mistakes in their creative development without the pressure of impact on final grades.
