Course description

Course overview

This course aims to teach artists, designers, and innovators in any field, a range of processes to make generating creative ideas easier. It's a myth that creative people wait for inspiration. They don't. They work at it - with practical methods.

The ability to draw on a range of creative techniques to create and develop a project is crucial to its success. It's vital in the world of innovation to create unique, original ideas that make both you and your work stand out from the crowded competition. This course will give you the tools that will help you to learn how to broaden your scope for ideas.

You'll learn techniques used by great contemporary creative designers and artists to develop innovative projects and how to get your message through to the hearts and minds of your audience. Through practical exercises, contextual studies, technical demonstrations and illustrated talks, you'll discover how to convey what is unique about you as a creative person, your purpose, personality, mission and vision. You'll discover how to take your work in different directions, unlock your imagination and expand your horizons.

Every student receives a copy of the book 'The Art of Creative Thinking' by Rod Judkins, a valuable resource that will inspire and guide you in your design journey.

This course is available both on campus or online. Please check location assigned to specific dates in the booking section.
