Course description

Contemporary Art London for 16 -18 year olds will allow you an insider's view of the London art world. You will visit the best of London's major art galleries and museums, hidden art trails, public art, artists studios, alternative art spaces and unusual one-off events. This course is open to everyone and is specifically designed to provide inspiration for aspiring artists, designers, curators, art theorists and writers. The aim of this course is to create a research journal inspired by your experience in London. This journal can become an integral part of your portfolio demonstrating your understanding of the art world and contemporary art theory, showing where you have found inspiration, the development of your ideas and how your work relates to that of existing artists. Your research journal will be full of what you find inspiring, useful bits of knowledge and theory, critical responses to the artwork have seen and experienced, texts, drawings and new ideas. This sort of research is essential to any art student and will give you important study skills for your future education, including original ways to put together ideas and information, developing a critical opinion with confidence and awareness, and how to respond creatively to artworks. This course is suitable to students of all levels.

Please note: This course is for students aged 16 to 18 years old only
