Meet the Future Creatives Tutor: Roger Healey-Dilkes

Roger Healey-Dilkes teaches in Cambridge and has always enjoyed being creative. At school, drawing was the thing that made him stand out. He pursued a degree in sculpture and then moved to America. After a few jobs, he decided to become an artist, starting with a residency through a local arts programme in the East Midlands.

He then started teaching in London, spending about 20 years working in Further Education, before doing an MA at UAL: Central Saint Martins. He combines teaching with exhibiting nationally.

I’m really into the idea that if it hadn’t been for someone saying “have you thought about this?” I wouldn’t be where I am today. So I want to provide that push for the next generation.

We caught up with the inspiring artist to find out more about his work and discuss the importance of art in a child's development. Read his full interview.
