Bajan Beauty Balm is the brainchild of Sherron Holder-Culver, a renowned cosmetic chemist, aromatherapist, and skin specialist. This unique balm not only pays homage to her Bajan heritage but also honors the influential Windrush generation. Rooted in the rich beauty and grooming traditions they brought to the UK, our formulations blend raw cosmetic ingredients cherished for generations within the African diaspora community.

“I am a graduate from London College of Fashion and I found Top Drawer really insightful because it allowed me to get to know the buyers properly and people who could potentially stock our products. It gave you confidence to talk to them. It also gave my brand a platform and in general, I just really enjoyed this exhibition. I got the opportunity to talk to a variety of people, a variety of buyers and exhibitors. It was both useful and a lot of fun.”

Lorouc

Lorouc is a small, British interior textiles and fabrication company based in Brighton. At the heart of Lorouc, is an unwavering dedication to colourful design, expert craftsmanship and innovative manufacturing. It is founded by UAL graduate, Matthew Coats. Having been tired of seeing wasteful manufacturing processes in the design studios that Matthew worked in during his fashion design days, Lorouc was born from a desire to see a more authentic, gentler and less wasteful approach to design; but one that doesn’t require the customer to choose between a good aesthetic and their conscience. In the Lourouc studio, the ‘waste’ from the materials is repurposed for lining, piping or stuffing. If the off-cuts are too small to be used in this way, then they are kept and reused for more intricate design pieces. Nothing goes in the bin!

Parali by Aarushi

Parali by Aarushi was founded in September 2022. The brand aims to stop straw stubble burning and to reduce the air pollution caused by burning paddy straw waste. To achieve this, Parali by Aarushi have introduced paddy waste as a raw material, used to make their eco-textiles. By giving the waste a new purpose, farmers can use this as an additional resource for trading.

They use a closed loop production system, where they recycle waste generated during production of their textile products. This is used to make other by-products such as paper and packaging. Almost every product is biodegradable and compostable.

Located in a rural village in India, the production of the textile products employs local women who are unable to travel out of their villages for work.
