Get Ready is an online learning site for new undergraduate students joining UAL this year that helps welcome students to our friendly and diverse University community.

2020's Get Ready programme at London College of Communication opens on 14 September. Check the email account that you applied to UAL with to find instructions on how to join Get Ready.

Through the Get Ready programme, you will find activities that will help you get to know other students on your course, and help you practise some of the study skills that will help you to be successful during your time with us.

There are 2 parts to the Get Ready programme:

Part 1: Introduction to University

These activities are designed to help you prepare for your exciting journey ahead.

You will be introduced to some of the skills that will help you to study on your course, and get to know the staff and students you will be studying with.

These activities open on the 14 September.

Part 2: Live workshops

You will be invited to attend three live virtual workshops between 21 September and 1 October, along with other students from your course and programme area.

Workshop 1: Image making

In this session staff will introduce easy ways of making images at home with minimal equipment and materials.

Workshop 2: Reflective Writing

Learn how to produce short texts that will help you to track your progress and plan your development.

Workshop 3: Design a Postcard

In the final session you will make a piece of work in response to a short brief.

These sessions are designed for learning online and require no special skills, equipment or materials. They are a chance for you to practise some of the ways of working that you will experience on your course.

Student Lounge

Visit our 'Student Lounge' where you can meet some current LCC Peer Mentors in an online space.

Mentors are students in the second or third year who support Year 1 students in the transition to university. They will be available to answer your questions on a forum and share some of their experiences at LCC during live sessions online.

How do I access Get Ready?

You should have now received an email containing joining instructions for Get Ready, and another email containing the dates and times of the live workshops for your course.

Remember, to take part in LCC Get Ready you need to have met all of your study offer conditions and accepted your place.
