You did it! #UALGrads2026

For the first time, UAL hosted 4 separate Postgraduate graduation ceremonies. They took place at the Royal Festival Hall from 17 -18  March, as over 1,500 UAL graduates made their way across the stage in celebration of completing their degrees.

The ceremonies were a true celebration of creativity, with student artwork displayed on auditorium screens and specially commissioned graduation films showcasing talent from across all our Colleges and Institutes. Graduates and their guests were treated to inspiring speeches from 7 wonderful students and 4 honoraries.

Making art is a pursuit of reworking and reimagining what the world can. It is the articulation of dreams, transgressions, alternatives and political futures which, when done well, and appealing to the active moral life, provides a rebuke to cruelty and perhaps even opens a hope for the world to be otherwise. The great privilege of being here today, and of learning, debating, making and thinking is in doing it together.

Well done to our incredible student speakers!

A key part of each ceremony is the graduate speeches, given by students nominated by their College. Due to travel restrictions in the Middle East, Sama Al Hamdan presented her speech over a prerecorded video.
