Accessing CSM over the winter break

We hope you all have a well-deserved rest over the Winter break. Please take note of the following important information about accessing our buildings and contacting staff members during this time.

Contacting staff

College academic, technical and support staff will be taking a break over the festive period. This may mean that it will take longer to come back to your enquiries throughout this time.

If you need urgent medical or mental health support during the holidays, please refer to our helplines and emergency support page (which includes information about how to access support when the university is closed – see ‘support outside of working hours’.

Key dates

Friday 13 December: Winter term finishes.

16-24 December: Many CSM staff will be on annual leave, and emails may not be answered until the College reopens on 2 January.

25 December – 1 January: UAL closed

Tuesday 2 January: College staff will return to work from this date.

Monday 13 January: Spring term begins.

Opening hours 

If you're staying in London over the holidays, here's a round-up of when you can access the facilities at Central Saint Martins.

Please note the building is closed from 4pm on 24 December. The building will reopen on 2 January 2025.

Technical workshops

14 December 2024 – 12 January 2025: Closed

Library and Learning Zone 

Until 15 December: Night opening

• Open continuously from 9am Monday until 10pm Friday
• Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 8pm

16 - 24 December:

• Monday - Friday: 10am - 6pm (10am - 4pm Tuesday 24 December)
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

25 December - 1 January: Closed

2 - 5 January:

• Thursday and Friday: 10am - 6pm
• Saturday and Sunday: Closed

6 - 12 January:

• Monday - Friday: 10am - 6pm
• Saturday and Sunday: 10am - 8pm

2 - 7 January 2024:

• Tuesday – Friday, 10am – 6pm
• Saturday – Sunday, 10am – 4pm

Students can book to use individual library study spaces and computers online.

We have a huge range of e-books, e-journals and other specialist online resources which are available 24 hours a day.
