A day of talks and panel discussions from graduating students from across the BA Photography programme at London College Communication.

Part of the public programme for the 2026 undergraduate Photography degree show at London College of Communication, this curated day features talks and panel discussions from graduating students.

Sessions are organised by course, showcasing the work of students from BA (Hons) Photography, BA (Hons) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, and BA (Hons) Commercial Photography.

BA Photography: 13:00 - 14:30: What Holds Us Up. Ecologies of Being. Talk with Zethu Makeso and Alona Pardo

Grounded in the work of this year’s BA Photography cohort, What Holds Us Up considers land and place as frameworks through which memory is traced, community is shaped, and the self is located. The symposium centres three student practices engaging these concerns, alongside multidisciplinary artist Zethu Makeso, whose work explores water as an archive of lived experience, feeling, memory, and knowledge, and Alona Pardo, curator of Re/Sisters - the 2024 exhibition at the Barbican - which examined the intersections of gender and environmental justice.

BA (Hons) Photojournalism & Documentary Photography: 15:00 - 16:30: Imaging and Imaginingwith guest speaker Renée Mussai

BAPJD's talk programme will consist of two panels exploring the theme of storytelling, which lies at the heart of photojournalism and documentary photography, from opposite yet complementary perspectives. The first focuses on the stories others tell about us, that often serve to minimise and marginalise the breadth of human expression. The second celebrates the stories we tell of ourselves, to imagine more expansive ways of living and being in the world.

"The function of art is to do more than to tell it like it is — it's to imagine what is possible." Bell Hooks
