Join this online session to help price your products, services or work for your showcase and beyond.

Overview

How much should you charge for your creative products & services? Getting it right is essential to build a financial, sustainable business or creative practice. This workshop will look at costing and pricing


The session will cover:

· What’s so challenging about costing & pricing your work?

· Learn how to calculate your cost price, wholesale & retail price and your daily rate.

· The 12 most common pricing strategies, incl. licensing and retainers.

· How to get more confident charging what you are worth.

· How to grow your career and create a financial forecast & plan.


Speaker bio

Patricia van den Akker is the Director of The Design Trust, the online business school for designers, makers and other creative professionals. Over the last 20 years she has worked with 1,000s of creatives as a creative business adviser, trainer and coach.

This event is organised by Careers and Employability and ispart of 'Showcase Ready' - a free programme of careers events where final year students can get the most from their UAL Showcase.

Taking place on campus and online, these events and activities support the preparation, presentation and professional skills final year students need to make a success of their final show. Sessions are delivered by creative industry professionals, expert advisers and UAL Careers and Employability staff.
