Reimagining Co-authorship and Community with the Changemakers

Explore creative, collaborative writing in a supportive space — build connections, share ideas, and shape a community together.

This participatory workshop invites students, postgraduates, alumni, and student partners to explore what creative co-authorship and co-thinking can look like in practice — particularly within eco-social justice work across design, research, activism, and scholarship.

You don’t need to love writing, enjoy writing, or feel “good” at writing to take part. This workshop starts from the idea that writing can often feel inaccessible, intimidating or overly professionalised. Together, we’ll explore ways of making writing more creative, relational, and accessible — even within professional and academic spaces.

Through gentle, low-pressure writing and visual practices, participants will be invited to reflect on what prevents them from writing, experiment with different forms of expression, and respond to each other’s work in supportive, non-judgemental ways. The focus is on process, connection, and shared thinking rather than producing polished or finished outcomes.

The workshop also creates space to build connections across students, alumni, and partners, and to explore future professional and creative pathways in eco-social justice fields.

This workshop is run by the Changemakers supported by alumni group UR MAD
