Exploration: Thinking through Making, MA Costume 25/26

In Exploration: Thinking through Making, MA Costume students share work which explores beauty, bodies, identity, history, decay, form, function and fabric.

Their work-in-progress ‘provotypes’ are specifically intended to provoke reflection on both the costume artefacts they have created and the debates, emotions and ideas which inspired them.

This is a show that consciously celebrates process - highlighting and showcasing the critical and creative thinking which underpins making.

Please do join us to recognise and reflect on the power and politics of costume.

The show opens on Thursday 23 April and runs until Saturday 25 April in AG07 and AG12 at Wimbledon College of Arts.

We are delighted to be marking the opening of the show on Thursday 23 April with the following events:

5-6pm: An 'in-conversation' with Max Allen and Elliot Adcock (@allen_and_adcock). As this 'exploration' of their practice will discuss, Allen and Adcock are costumers whose work cross and smashes the boundaries between film, costume and art - blending subcultural sensibilities and classical knowledge with a visceral passion for craft.

6-8pm: A Private View of the show and an opportunity to talk to the students about their developing practice.

Places for the 'In-conversation' and Private View are limited and should be booked in advance
