Course description

Course overview

Broaden your skills in textile design and learn how to enrich your work with expressive floral designs. The course encourages experimentation, play, and personal interpretation to help you build confidence in developing floral motifs using both abstract and observational approaches.

Across six lessons, you’ll be guided through freeform painting, mark-making, mixed media, collage, and simple printing methods. You’ll learn how to add depth, texture, and rhythm to your designs, and how to bring individual elements together to form cohesive layouts suitable for textile prints.

Each lesson combines short demonstrations with practical activities, allowing you to work at your own pace while building a small body of experimental work.

The course also emphasises reflection and peer sharing, helping you develop a critical eye and a deeper understanding of your own creative process.
