Course description

Course Overview

This course takes a broader view of illustration and captures the spirit and enthusiasm of the BA Graphic Design degree course at Central Saint Martins.

Students are encouraged to explore both illustration and graphic design methodolgies through experimentation, the generation of ideas and an awareness of their surroundings. The course also explores how type and layout play an important role in design.

While there will be the opportunity for some classic illustration and design, students are encouraged to innovate in their ways of image-making and communication.

Students will be expected to do a certain amount of work at home as well as practical classroom activities.

Please note: this course is available in either a 5-day intensive (25 hour) format, or a condensed 5-week evening (12.5 hour) format. The intensive course offers more studio and class time for the activities, while the 5-week evening course will include exercises and homework over 5 weeks.
