Library events for Activities Week

We’re running lots of events during Activities Week, including badge-making, clothes mending, finger knitting, knot and pot, zines making, materials creation, decolonising Wikipedia, special collections handling sessions and reading groups.

On Monday 7 February we are running Doing it ourselves: a zine making workshop. You can discover DIY zines in the LCC library and make your own zine to take away or add to our Special Collections. LCC Library is home to over 4,000 zines, from cut and paste DIY punk to publications exploring feminism, race, LGBTQIA+ communities, fandom, art, and climate activism. Come and explore the zine collection and take inspiration to make your own self-published zines to add to the collections for future visitors to discover. All materials are supplied.

Check out the full list of events.

Our online library

If you haven’t already, check out our new Digital Collections platform! The site allows virtual browsing of digital objects and collections across our archives, museums and libraries.

We’re also excited to share our 2 new subject guides on Black History and Decolonising Libraries and Archives. The guides contain useful online resources and link to relevant UAL collections including articles, videos, books and podcasts.
