Collecting your student ID card

Please look out for information about your first day. This will be emailed to you before your first day of teaching at CSM.
Enrolment support
Visit our enrolment helpdesk at Central Saint Martins where our team will be available to help you with any enrolment issues.
Drop-in sessions
You can take part in different activities depending on the day you collect your card.
- Zine making (Monday, Thursday, Friday)
- Carboned OUT! (Monday and Friday)
- College tours (Monday to Friday)
Food and drink will be available to those collecting their cards early.
CSM Library events
The CSM Library is running sessions for new students to familiarise themselves with the space and to socialise before the start of term. Students can book a place via Eventbrite:

Lethaby Gallery private view and breakfast
Join us for breakfast and browse our Design Transforms exhibition on Thursday 21 September, 9am - 11.30am.
We’re opening the doors of our Lethaby Gallery for new CSM students.
You’ll have a chance to experience the exhibition exclusively before public hours. Meet other CSM students and chat to our Lethaby Gallery team about curating this exciting exhibition as part of London Design Festival.
We’ll have a selection of breakfast items available, so please arrive at 9am to enjoy these.

London Design Festival
Part of King's Cross Design District for London Design Festival #LDF23
Celebrating product, industrial and ceramic design work by our students, staff and alumni and the collaborations that give purpose to their ideas. Welcome to an exhibition and interactive events that navigate our programme manifesto of design as a practice that transforms.
From 20–21 September we will host participatory workshops utilising somatic practices of belonging through the exploration of the relationship between clay, migration, climate change and design.
Visitors to the space will be invited to participate in a series of workshops with Nina Trivedi, Duncan Hooson from Central Saint Martins and Carolina Rubio-MacWright from Touching land. The workshops will explore somatic practices of belonging through the relationships between clay, borders, migration, climate change and design.
Drop in workshops:
- Wednesday 20 September, 11am – 2pm: Know Your Rights workshop with Climate Refugee Shelters, Senda de Visa I, II in Reynosa, Mexico.
- Thursday 21 September, 11am – 6pm: Clay power Figurine workshop with Hugo Gonzalez from Touching Land and NYC, Refugees.
Get Ready
Our Get Ready programme runs from 18 – 22 September.
Before your course begins, all new students are invited to sign-up for CSM Get Ready, a series of live workshops and resources to help you prepare for study. These sessions take place 18 – 22 September and include both online and onsite sessions at CSM, King’s Cross. You are welcome to attend as many sessions as you wish.
The sessions will explore critical writing, reading and writing for your creative practice, visual research, collaborating with others, critical thinking and more! They will be a great opportunity for you to explore key skills that you will develop while on your course and will also offer you a chance to meet other new students starting at CSM.
You will also meet the Academic Support team, who are here to support your learning and development throughout your course.
Check out our live online and face-to-face workshops, discover great study resources, and get a feel for learning at UAL. All new Undergraduate and Postgraduate students can book directly via the Get Ready email sent on Monday 11 September 2023.
