The UAL Climate Emergency Network has teamed up with innovation charity Nesta to give away 5 prizes of £500 through their HOT STUFF Design Challenge.
We want UAL students and recent grads to devise a creative way to change how we think about heat pumps! It can be an ad campaign, animation, a jingle, short story, game, photo series, any form of artwork, or a whole re-design and brand new look for heat pumps! Get creative!
Why are we doing this?
Our homes are the third-largest producer of greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. Heat pumps are an energy-efficient, low-carbon way to heat, or cool, your home.
However, the UK is widely acknowledged to be at the back of the queue on heat pump uptake, with lower rates of installations per household than almost every other country in Europe. In fact, out of 17 European countries examined in 2021, the UK had the slowest rate of heat pump installation.
So why is the UK so behind?
How do you enter?
