Over the summer, a number of projects are underway to improve our facilities at King’s Cross.

Main Building entrance - barrier replacement

Dates: 7 to 31 July 2025

We will be fully replacing the barriers between the Crossing and the Street. During this work the large gates on either side of the barriers will be in use to enter and exit the building.

When entering the building you will need to show your staff/student ID to a member of security staff stationed at the gate.

There will be no disruption to building access during this work.

Granary Building - lift refurbishment

Dates: Ongoing until January 2026

Work is underway to replace the lifts in the Granary Building to improve reliability and service to all floors of the Granary Building.

The work is taking place in a phased approach, with one lift in operation during building opening hours.

We will notify staff and students if the single lift in service needs to be taken out of use for repairs.

Granary Building - emergency lighting

Work will start in mid-July to replace the emergency lighting on all floors of the Granary Building.

This will impact spaces including Reception, Student Services, the Library and the 4th and 5th floor offices.

In advance of any work taking place, we will put up signage to notify users of each space.
