UAL Marketing is working with photographer Ben Turner and Lock Studios to photograph students and the work they've made from a specific world they belong to.
UAL's Home Away from Home campaign — created with director Safeen James and Curated London Productions — explores what it means to arrive somewhere new while carrying your own sense of place and community with you.
We're now extending this into photography, and we'd love your help. We're looking for students whose creative work is rooted in a particular world they come from or are part of. That might mean your cultural heritage, your home country, or a diasporic identity — but it could just as well mean your queer community, a subculture you grew up in, a faith tradition, a specific place, or any group that has meaningfully shaped who you are and what you make.
If selected, you'll take part in an editorial-style photoshoot alongside your work, so we're looking for students who are happy in front of the camera and willing to bring some personality to the shoot. You'll receive images for your own use, and may be featured on UAL's social media channels and in university promotional material. Photoshoots take place Wednesday 24th – Friday 26th June. If selected, you'll be given a 2-hour timeslot and may need to arrive early for make-up.
We want to reflect the full diversity of our student community and are keen to hear from students across all Colleges, courses, and levels of study. It is also open to recent graduates.
