It’s time to examine the relationship between fashion and society, and the use of fashion activism to challenge social injustice...

How has fashion activism been used to comment on society? Be inspired by intersectional perspectives from activists around the world, and learn from historical and contemporary case studies, campaigns and resources on our new open-source online course – FashionValues: Society.

On this four-week course from Fashion Values created by the team at Centre for Sustainable Fashion, you’ll explore how fashion can paradoxically be a force for societal good, creating agency, collaboration, dignity and distinction between people – or a cause and perpetuator of injustice.

Gain an understanding of the process of change in relation to fashion and society, exploring various models that provide ways of thinking, feeling or working towards change. Learn about where power lies to create change and to challenge social injustice in fashion.

The course starts on 28 March 2022 and you can register for Fashion Values: Society from Monday 28 February at futurelearn.com.
