Creative Writing Workshops
LCC’s creative writing sessions are aimed at stimulating the imagination, tackling writing blocks and building self-confidence.
You will generate writing together using prompts and exercises, with the option to share what we have written with the group. These workshops are open to everyone but might be especially helpful for those embarking on a longer piece of writing.
Each session will be different. You can attend one, two or all three of them. Sign up via Academic Support Online or come to the Academic Support Office behind the Library Learning Zone (LLZ).

Writing proposals – Thursday 9 May from 12.30 - 2pm in WG14C
Writing a professional proposal involves particular challenges. This workshop is aimed at exploring the main issues with writing proposals, considering issues of style, structure, graphic identity and audience in order to stimulate interest in future projects.
Writing your dissertation – Thursday 23 May from 2.30 - 4pm in WG14D
This workshop is focussed on dissertation writing, examining issues of research, structure and academic writing, as well as considering the key elements in composing an excellent thesis.
Writing cafe – Thursday 13 June from 2 - 4pm in T1105
Writing is a complex thinking-transcribing process. This practical workshop is aimed at stimulating the writing process through creative prompts, focussing on the relationship between descriptive and critical writing.
PhD Surgeries
One hour of support with any aspect of your PhD. Sessions take place every Thursday until 20 June from 4 - 5pm in T122a.
