Library Services Information Literacy independent study course on Moodle.

Begin your journey into information literacy and digital research skills by dipping into our new independent study course. Made up of bite sized modules, they will guide you through the information landscape, helping you navigate the wealth of resources UAL Library Services has to offer. Master the art of finding information in the digital age, learn to critically assess and validate your information sources and engage with hands-on activities designed to help you understand academic integrity, proper citation, and referencing practices, and the use of AI in your academic research and practice.

The four Information Literacy modules are interactive, activity based and generic, to suit all courses. They have been designed thoughtfully to maximise our creative and social purpose ways of working to appeal to all students. They can be worked through systematically, or dipped into as needed so they can be useful to you whatever your level of study. They seek to cover all the main elements of information literacy, and are adapted to showcase our own online resources and Library Search tools. Integrated throughout you will find skills and advice linking to other resources for academic study, such as use of AI in research, and the role of AI in academic integrity.

All new students will be enrolled on the Library Services course in the coming weeks. It will appear in your Moodle Dashboard so you can start at any time. Those who enrol late will be able to ‘self enrol’ on the course as soon as you have Moodle access.
