As part of our Teach Inspire Create programme of events, we’re excited to present: A spotlight on Music Performance and Production. This free online event will give you the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the qualification and hear from those who design, deliver and study on it. This session is for all centres not currently delivering the UAL Music Performance and Production qualifications.

Our Music Performance and Production qualifications prepare students for further progression. Learn more about their versatility and industry relevance.

From diving deeper into an interest, to refining and mastering skills which can be applied in the industry, our qualifications are designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and employment in the music industries. The Music Performance and Production qualifications enable students to understand the different roles within the music industry and hone practical performance and production skills.

The UAL Level 1 Award and Diploma in Music, Performing and Production Arts provides opportunities for students to explore, develop and test their creativity while enhancing self-confidence and revealing the potential career demands and opportunities within the sector.

The UAL Level 2 Award and Diploma in Music Performance and Production has been developed to provide students with an understanding of music performance and production as a collaborative activity and prepare them for the reality of the sector, progression and paths available to them.

The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production have been designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of music performance and production disciplines.

In this online introductory Spotlight session, you will gain a detailed understanding of the qualifications and learn about the progression and career opportunities they provide for students. The session will enable you to hear live from current tutors at UAL approved centres who have successfully planned and delivered the qualifications. There will also be a chance to hear directly from students about their experience on these qualifications and how studying with UAL has expanded their artistic ambitions and career choices.

By the end of the session, you will have an understanding of:

  • The wide-ranging benefits of these specialist qualifications and how they help to hone specific skills that are relevant to progression to higher level study and entry into the industry.
  • How these qualifications encourage innovation and creativity.
  • The course overview and delivery.

There will be an opportunity to discuss these elements with our qualification experts in a Q&A session at the end.

Professionally, my trajectory has shot up since completing the UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production. I started gigging last summer and played over 50 gigs this year including Isle of Wight Festival, The Great Escape and a number live lounges with Eagle Radio and BBC Introducing.
