As part of our Teach Inspire Create programme of events, we’re excited to present: A spotlight on Level 3 Applied General. This free online event will give you the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the qualification and hear from those who design, deliver and study on it. This session is for all centres not currently delivering the UAL Applied General qualification.

The Applied General qualification provides post-16 students with the skills necessary to progress academically or professionally.

From diving deeper into an interest, to refining and mastering skills which can be applied in the industry, our qualifications are designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and employment in the creative media industries. The Applied General qualification provide students with knowledge and understanding necessary to progress into further, higher education and training or employment.

In this online introductory Spotlight session, you will gain a detailed understanding of the qualifications and learn about the progression and career opportunities they provide for students. The session will enable you to hear live from current tutors at UAL approved centres who have successfully planned and delivered the qualifications. There will also be a chance to hear directly from students about their experience on these qualifications and how studying with UAL has expanded their artistic ambitions and career choices.

By the end of the session, you will have an understanding of:

  • The wide-ranging benefits of these specialist qualifications and how they help to hone specific skills that are relevant to progression to higher level study and entry into the industry.
  • How these qualifications encourage innovation and creativity.
  • The course overview and delivery.

There will be an opportunity to discuss these elements with our qualification experts in a Q&A session at the end.

The structure of UAL Awarding Body’s Art and Design qualifications enable us to deliver an engaging further education curriculum from levels 1– 4. The qualifications provide all students with opportunities to develop new skills and techniques, work in a curious and experimental manner, and be able to make mistakes in their creative development without the pressure of impact on final grades.
