An art installation. A strip of stripped wallpaper hangs down the wall and across the floor, 9 photo frames with photographs of 2 people sat on a sofa in front of the wallpaper are displayed. A miniature coffee table and a tall lamp are positioned next to the photographs. A TV screen with a sketch of a person's head is positioned on the wall on the left. The installation feels homely.

“My aim for this work is to capture the notion of domestic space and gender identity, using two males in a domestic space with interchanging domestic objects to juxtapose the relationship of self-expression and traditional mundane activities.”

“For my project ‘Memory of a Home’, I developed my ideas through creating a narrative strip. I then created Riso prints in the workshop based on my paintings, and finally created a puppet of the main character from my story using clay, string and fabric. I made a series of zines experimenting with text by designing a font, plus experimented with linocut prints and mono prints. Exploring these processes allowed me to settle on producing a final animation of my story and a triptych of three painted/collaged pieces to accompany the 3D puppet of my character in the exhibition.”

“I have never made a piece that is in such a big scale. I have always been keener on making scale models and miniatures, however, for this project I wanted to challenge myself and make my very first set from scratch. From researching to experimenting with materials, everything was so new but exciting”
