London College of Communication is about to undertake a piece of work to set out a new vision for the College – helping us to reflect on where we are in 2024 and pointing to where we want to go in the future.
And we’re asking all LCC students to get involved to help us co-create this vision!
Why we’re co-creating a new vision for LCC
As the world around us continues to change at a faster and faster rate, so too must we. New challenges mean new solutions, new possibilities and new opportunities.
In 2016, we set out a manifesto for London College of Communication: ‘Challenging and inspiring others through powerful narratives, bravely told.’
This reflected at the time who we felt we were as a College, represented our identity, and gave us direction and focus as we navigated the world around us.
In 2022, UAL launched its new 10-year Strategy – showing how we as a University will bring creativity to the world; and in 2023 published its Social Purpose Implementation Plan, setting out the approach to becoming a purpose-driven university in which all decisions are oriented to maximise the positive contribution we make to long-term wellbeing of all humans and the planet. And we are also well underway with plans to move to a brand new campus for the College, which gives us the potential to re-consider how we operate and how we want to interact with the world.
With the world of creative communications changing faster than ever, a new campus for the College nearing completion, and alongside the University launching a new 10-year strategy and Social Purpose Implementation Plan, we have an important opportunity to reflect on who we are and where we want to be.
Over the coming months, our diverse communities will work together to develop a new vision for the College – one that recognises our history, reflects where we are in 2024, and points to how we want to be seen and where we want to go in the future, as we look towards our new campus and beyond.
How we will co-create a new vision for LCC
Our community will be crucial in developing our new vision.
Working with a specialist agency, we will work with everyone from current students, staff and alumni to members of our feeder schools and our contacts within the creative industries.
We will host focus groups with representatives from across our student, staff and external communities.
And all students and staff will be invited to respond to a survey – giving your views on where you think LCC is now, and where we should be going in the future.
We will then aim to have the new vision for LCC finalised and ready to be shared at the start of 2025.
Let us know your views through the LCC College vision survey
All students will soon receive an email to respond to the LCC College vision survey.
Your opinion is extremely valuable to us, so please take a few minutes to fill out this survey and help us to shape who LCC will become over the next 10 years.
The LCC College vision survey will be sent to your LCC student email address in late May 2024.
If you do not receive the email to respond, please contact communications@lcc.arts.ac.uk.
