LCC lift installation and improvements 2023-2024

As part of our ongoing works to maintain and enhance the current LCC building, we are installing a new lift in the Workshop Block at LCC.

The new lift aims to improve reliability, accessibility, and load carrying capacity into the Workshop Block.

Some of the building works required to install the new lift are significant, with the most invasive works expected to take place from late-August until mid-October 2023.

While we are doing our best to minimise any possible impact to students and staff, noise disruption is likely at times during these dates.

Some spaces within the LCC building are also closed while these works take place. Please do not enter areas that are marked as closed.

The most noisy works to install the lift began in August and are due to be completed by Monday 9 October.

To reduce disruption:

• Works will take place from 6am-12pm only
• The noisiest works will not take place on Thursdays (LCC’s busiest timetabled day)
• Some classes may use alternative rooms for the first few weeks of term
