From 17 February 2025, students at LCC will be able to register their attendance at teaching sessions using UAL’s SEAtS attendance monitoring app.
The app is easy to download, install and use, and is part of improvements to attendance monitoring at UAL.
How to download the app
- Download the SEAtS app for Android
- Download the SEAtS app for Apple
- Watch the how to use SEAtS video on YouTube
How the app works
You can use the SEAtS app on your phone to check into your classes.
Once you have signed in, the app will display your classes for the day .
You should check in between 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after the class starts. If you check in later than 10 minutes after the start time, you will be marked as late.
For online or off-site classes, students can use the App with a QR code shown by your lecturer.
Optional classes, marked as white events in Celcat, are not transferred into SEAtS and are not monitored.
If you don’t have a smartphone or you’ve forgotten it, you can still use your student ID card to tap in on the card reader. Alternatively, let your lecturer know when you attend your class, and your attendance will be manually marked.

Why do I need to register my attendance at class?
Attendance is a key contributor to successful studies, and we want to help make sure you get the most out of your time at UAL. Studies show that students who engage regularly with their course are more likely to do well.
Attendance monitoring is also an important aspect of funding and visa requirements.
For full details on our attendance policy, what happens if you miss sessions, authorised absences, time out, extenuating circumstances for absences that will have an impact on your assessments, withdrawals and attendance guidance for student visa holders, see UAL’s Attendance Policy.
