Yuwei Chen is the Digital Fabrication Technician at the UAL Creative Computing Institute. Yuwei has a background in creative computing, product design, and interactive media. She has hands-on experience across digital fabrication and media practices, from 3D printing, CNC and laser cutting to interactive installations and real-time audiovisual performance. She has also collaborated on professional projects with organisations including Google, Bosch, Beijing Film Academy, and Emotech, spanning product design, digital systems, and immersive environments.
Alongside her technical role, Yuwei is an international new media artist whose practice blends coding, physical computing, and visual design to create interactive and immersive works. Her installations and performances have been presented internationally, including at the Louvre (Paris), Iklectik and Printworks (London), and the Yokohama International Art Exhibition (Japan). Her research-driven practice explores the relationship between individuals, technology, and society, with a particular interest in cross-disciplinary collaboration and the transformative role of emerging technologies in art.
