MA Fine Art student Celia Peachey tells us about her work, mindfullness and what she enjoyed most about studying at Chelsea.
Tell us about your work over the past year
My practice has grown in its’ diversity, from voice overs to films clips, to digital prints and installation pieces. I feel as though I have a good understanding of my work ethics and methods and I’m looking forward to being an artist in a professional sense.
Tell us about your work for the MA show
The work is a short ‘Mindfulness Pop Video’, moments of meditation and reflection in motion.
What was your greatest challenge in working towards the MA show?
Choosing what to show out of all the work I produced during my time at Chelsea, and then taking the guidance from my tutors, whilst staying true to myself.
What do you see yourself doing after you graduate? What are your career ambitions?
My dream is to collaborate internationally. I want to create meaningful, playful art that connects people and celebrates the self.
What have you enjoyed most about studying at Chelsea?
I’ve really enjoyed the lectures and discussions. I’ve also learnt a great deal by observing people’s processes. Being in the company of so many different students, tutors and technicians has helped me gain useful insights about practice and career choices.
What have you most enjoyed about the area around Chelsea? Any tips?
Chelsea is well located, being next to the Tate Britain and near to the South Bank is awesome. There’s a lot of diverse creativity to be explored.
