Ways of Makingcelebrates the creative practitioners who support teaching, making and experimentation through their technical roles across London College of Communication. Alongside individual practices, collaborative projects connect technicians from different departments, sharing specialist knowledge and skills developing new approaches through collective working.

The exhibition brings together a range of approaches, from generative technologies and 3D printed ceramics, to photography and moving image. Across these mediums, different materials, technologies, skills and ways of working intersect and inform one another.

The works here explore ideas of authorship, labour, memory and process. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on what making means today, where the material and computational co-exist and challenge. Above all, Ways of Making highlights the breadth of creative practice within LCC’s technical community, where technicians work as artists, makers, researchers and collaborators.

*The Well Gallery is located in the centre of the building. It is typically accessed down a flight of stairs. Ground Floor access can be arranged and supported by a member of the Facilities Team or Events Team. This may take a little longer, so please allow additional time during your visit.
