Bruno Vinhas is a guest speaker in 'Design Transforms'.

Bruno Vinhas is a Brazilian-born curator, textile artist, and arts administrator based in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. His curatorial practice explores the intersections of contemporary craft, identity, community engagement, and cultural accessibility, creating spaces for dialogue, representation, and meaningful connections.

Having curated exhibitions nationally and internationally, including at The Rooms, the Craft council of NL and Eastern Edge Gallery in Newfoundland and Labrador and Collect Art Fair in London, UK, Bruno approaches curating as a collaborative process that challenges traditional institutional structures and amplifies underrepresented voices.

Currently Manager of the Export Program at Craft Alliance Atlantic Association, he connects artists with international audiences and opportunities for professional growth. A recipient of the 2023 Mary MacDonald Award, Bruno believes in the transformative power of craft as a vehicle for storytelling, cultural exchange, social inclusion, and community empowerment.

His practice positions curating as a tool for cultural exchange, collective learning, and community empowerment.

Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.

UAL students and staff are invited to attend in person in K101, Central Saint Martins. A livestream is available to all external guests via MS Teams.
