Design Transforms | Hanna Sparks

Hanna Sparks is a Senior Designer at PriestmanGoode, a design consultancy specialising in transport, industrial design and customer experiences.

She is a multidisciplinary designer, working across CMF and graphic design in support of 3D industrial design, with a design approach that is fundamentally user-focused and centred on how passengers experience a space, whether through light, texture, sound or layout. This extends into her 2D spatial design work, where she looks specifically at designing spaces for passengers with reduced mobility.

Coming from a non-transport design background, having previously designed award-winning consumer products for the infant market, Hanna brings a distinctive outside perspective to the studio's work, and her experience working closely with manufacturing partners and on the factory floor gives her a strong grasp of how to resolve engineering challenges without losing sight of the design intent.

Design Transforms is a lecture series from the Product, Ceramic and Industrial Design programme at Central Saint Martins, where expert practitioners are invited to share their thoughts on the idea of transformation examined through the lens of their work.

UAL students and staff are invited to attend in person in K101, Central Saint Martins. A livestream is available to all external guests via MS Teams.
