Course description

Course overview

Designed to help students become more advanced in the use of CLO3D software, this course will help you visualise your designs digitally in CLO3D.

During the course, you will improve your ability to express and refine various design details such as drawstrings with drawcords, shoulder pads, twisted garments, volume pockets, layering, elastics, frills, pleats and puffs. You will also learn how to create laser cuts, import vector shapes from Illustrator and discover how to attach trims using the glue function. Students will be shown how to approach different challenges using different techniques to help develop skills for precision.

The course also explores texture maps and texture editor, and how they can be used to customise prints and textures inside CLO3D. For example, using texture editor for repeats or creating lace using transparency. More complex materials such as fur, knit and lighting material settings will also be covered. You will be shown how to customise topstitches for use as embellishments or custom trims, as well as setting up colourways for creating range plans.

The course also looks at avatar customisation, custom posing and auto rigging inside CLO3D. Students gain an insight into how to set up lighting and render settings for quality image outputs and animate using key frames for more creative results in CLO3D. The aim is to help students become more creative and confident when using CLO3D.
