Course overview
This online course provides an introduction to CLo3D, an industry-standard software. During the four weeks, you will gain a general understanding of the software and its possibilities to conceptualise your ideas.
The course will provide you with be step by step demonstrations that will help you understand the software use and potential.
During the course, you will be practising how to navigate around the avatar, drape garments onto the avatar, and adjust patterns for fit and styling.

The course is suitable for anyone interested in creating 3D garments, whether it is for physical fashion design or virtual garments for games: fashion designers, garments technicians, pattern cutters and character designers.

Materials
- Access to a computer with CLo3D software. A 14-day free trial is available, followed by various license subscriptions options
- A three-button mouse (regular mouse) is highly recommended, track pad is not recommended as it is hard to navigate with
- Notebook and pen

Tutor
Annika Andersson
Annika Andersson has decades of experience working as a fashion designer for multiple well known retailers, established brands and niche start ups. She has vast experience in the design process from concept to finished garments, real life experience and knowledge that she uses when teaching CLO3D and Substance Painter. Annika started to use CLO3d nine years ago, trained by the official CLO3d team in Munich.
Currently, Annika work on various freelance projects as well as an Associated Lecture on the BA fashion design courses at LCF, teaching CLO3d and the Adobe Suite. Annika has worked with creatives and factories around the world and understands the challenges in creativity vs commerciality and crafts vs technology. Annika is able to relate the use of CLO3d and Substance Painter in the commercial industry, sustainable benefits as well as virtual thought-provoking ideas.
