Lighting Your Home Short Course
Course description
Course overview
Lighting has the ability to transform a space, but it can be daunting task when doing up your own home. This 5-week evening course aims to demystify the process and teach students how to confidently create a simple lighting scheme which can be communicated to building trades.
The course covers all the essential information including how to use natural and artificial light sources, how to layer lights and achieve effects, how to control lighting, and how to draw a lighting plan and choose fittings.
Students build their knowledge through a combination of visual lectures and practical exercises and complete a one roomed project to practice their new skills. Much of the project work will be completed in class but students will be required to finish tasks every week.
Please note that students will not be able to use their own plans during the course but will be encouraged to apply all the elements learnt in their own time.
