On Shared Agency, Gender Equality and Public Space

With a focus on giving agency to local communities, specially of women, Carina and Julia will present projects dedicated to foregrounding the needs of citizens, their life experiences and needs within processes of design and construction. Arquitetura Na Periferia trains women on design and construction, inlcuding finance management in Brasil; and Social Place connects young women and girls to design, consultation processes and urban policy so they can have agency in shaping future environments tailored to their needs.
