Join UAL Careers and Employability in-person at Chelsea College of Art and explore freelance careers.

Thinking about freelancing or working for yourself in the creative industries? Join us for an afternoon of practical talks, workshops, networking with industry and advice to help you understand how to build your own freelance career.

You’ll hear from freelance practitioners and organisations supporting creative freelancers, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, meet others and explore what freelancing could look like for you. Talks and workshops will include:

  • How to Freelance: Get to grips with what freelancing actually involves, the different ways you can work for yourself and what to consider when getting started.
  • Freelance Finance Basics: Learn about pricing your work, managing your finances and the practical side of being self-employed.
  • Be Your Own Boss: Explore how to look after your wellbeing, manage boundaries and create sustainable ways of working for yourself.
  • Freelance Panel Talk: Hear directly from creative freelancers about their experiences.

This event is perfect for any students and graduates interested in freelancing, self-employment, portfolio careers or building a creative career on their own terms.
