Join artist in residence, Lorenzo Modica, for a drop-in session where you can request a drawing, or simply come and connect.

Welcome to The Drawing Office, a relaxed and informal space where everyone is welcome to connect with fellow curious creatives, share food, and unwind.

Throughout the evening, you can request a drawing from Lorenzo Modica, Artist in Residence at Camberwell Space. Lorenzo's residency forms part of a new partnership between Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London, and the Italian Cultural Institute in London.

Feel free to drop in at any time to request a drawing from the artist. Each drawing will become part of a growing collection that contributes to Lorenzo's residency at Camberwell Space.

Please note: The original drawings will remain part of the project's collection and cannot be taken away on the day. They will form part of the body of work that Lorenzo will present at the end of his residency. You will be asked whether you would like a digital scan of your drawing, which can be sent to you by email.

About the Residency

As part of the inaugural international artist residency programme led by Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute in London, Lorenzo will take up residency in Camberwell Space for four weeks in November 2026.

Launched last April, the open call invited emerging Italian artists under the age of 40 whose practice focuses on painting and expanded painting. A 38-year-old artist from Sicily, Modica is recognised for a painting practice that moves between abstraction and figuration, where traditional investigations into colour, form, surface and composition intersect with visual languages drawn from illustration, comics, collage and graphic communication. His work is characterised by a process-driven approach that introduces irony, vulnerability and experimentation into contemporary painting.

During the residency, Modica will develop This Note is For You, a site-specific project that will unfold across the neighboring areas of Camberwell and Peckham through direct engagement with local communities and places. Gathering images, objects, stories and encounters, he will transform these experiences into a new body of paintings and works on paper.

Lorenzo Modica’s residency This Note is For You will run from 2 – 26 November in Camberwell Space, Camberwell College of Arts.

Please notify us ahead o your visit if you have dietry requirement or allergies and the Camberwell Space will make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible. Camberwell Space is a fully accessible space at Camberwell College of Arts.
