Course description

Course overview

This course would suit both beginners at film photography and those who wish to refresh or enhance their skills by exploring the many possibilities that a B&W darkroom has to offer. The majority of class time is devoted to working in the darkroom and building printing techniques.

There will also be weekly assignments and lectures on historical and contemporary artwork that explore the technical and aesthetic possibilities of photography.

By the end of the course you will have learnt new processes and discovered different ways of creating images by experimenting and making mistakes. You will have lots of photographs, a keen eye, and gained enough confidence to continue working in a darkroom.
