Tutor

Alice Timms

Alice is a Freelance Stylist and Art Director with over 20 years of experience working across Fashion and Props for Commercials, Editorial, Celebrity, and Personal Styling.

After graduating with a BA in Fashion Design from Winchester School of Art, Alice worked in the design studios of Alexander McQueen and John Rocha before transitioning to styling. Her commercial work includes global and UK campaigns for major brands, including Adidas, American Express, John Lewis, Mercedes-Benz, Range Rover, Samsung and Unilever, with her work featuring in award-winning campaigns. Alongside her commercial practice, Alice has worked on fashion editorial publications and maintains a private clientele, offering wardrobe consultancy and personal styling services. She brings extensive industry knowledge of commercial production and creative direction, with sustainable practice.

Witnessing the waste generated through fast-fashion purchases and returns in commercial styling, Alice founded The Styling Bank in 2022—a BAFTA Albert-accredited sustainable rental platform that transforms post-production waste into reusable resources, building a circular economy for costumes and props. The platform serves as a case study for sustainable business and circular design thinking.

Alice is a recognised voice in sustainable production, regularly speaking at industry events and contributing to initiatives through Ad Green and the Association of Photographers. As a Practitioner Member of The Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (PISEP), she focuses on the practical implementation of environmental best practices, including analysing the carbon impact of emerging technologies like virtual production and GenAI
