Course description

Course overview

During this short course you’ll examine how fashion brands use strategic thinking and creative innovation to engage audiences, communicate brand values, and enhance consumer experiences.

A central focus of this course is brand storytelling and consumer engagement, investigating how brands develop innovative and immersive experiences that resonate with their target audiences. We’ll explore formats such as catwalk shows, brand activations, retail pop-ups, and exclusive industry events; through these examples, you'll consider how experiential events can build emotional connections, strengthen brand identity, and influence consumer behaviour.

Delivered over one week, the course combines lectures, practical workshops, group discussions, and presentations. You’ll work on developing an understanding of branding strategies, event planning processes, and creative design thinking, while strengthening the visual and verbal communication skills essential for presenting ideas within the fashion and creative industries.

The course provides a foundation in the purpose, planning considerations, and creative processes involved in fashion event concept development. The knowledge and skills gained can be applied to both personal creative practice and future professional development within the fashion and creative industries.
