UAL Home Postgraduate £7,000 Scholarships
Eligibility
Route 1 — Means
All applicants who meet the scholarship's financial eligibility criteria and course entry requirements will be offered the scholarship.
Route 2 — Merit
Route 2 scholarships are awarded on merit by a UAL selection panel, who make their decision based on the evidence provided in your application.
Eligibility Criteria
If you think you meet the criteria for Route 1 and 2, we recommend you complete each scholarship application form to be considered for both.

Recognised equivalent academic qualifications are accepted, please refer to the UK ENIC to check your degree. You will need to provide your transcript as proof of your qualification. If you have not yet received your results, you will need to provide evidence of your predicted grade as part of your application. When you receive your results, you will need to provide further evidence that you have achieved your predicted grade to be granted the award; and
- provide a personal statement which responds to the following questions (maximum 350 words per question):
- Please tell us about how your achievements and experience gained both within and outside of school/university demonstrate your suitability for this award.

- What contribution do you intend to make to university life whilst studying? How do you feel being part of the UAL community will help you in achieving your career aspirations?
Please note:
You are not eligible to apply if you already hold a UK postgraduate taught or equivalent qualification from studies undertaken in the UK or anywhere else in the world.
Apply
Next steps
You will need to hold an offer for your postgraduate course before applying to the Home Postgraduate Scholarship.
If you are planning to join a course starting in autumn 2026, we recommend you apply for your chosen course(s) before the Round 2 course application deadline on Wednesday 18 March 2026 to ensure you receive your course offer before the Home Postgraduate Scholarship deadline of Friday 26 June 2026 for autumn start courses.
Once you've received an offer to study at UAL, the ‘my funding’ page on your applicant portal will be updated from December 2025 onwards to include the application forms for scholarships you may be eligible for.
If you submit a scholarship application, we will email you by the following dates to let you know if you have been successful:
| Course Start Date | Application Deadline | Decision |
| September/October/November 2026 | Friday 26 June 2026 | Friday 7 August 2026 |
| January 2027 | Friday 30 October 2026 | Thursday 3 December 2026 |
Applications can be submitted until 11.59pm (UK time) on the dates above. We are not able to accept late or incomplete applications from students who have not yet received a course offer.
AI Policy: Please note that while we understand the benefits of using AI to help structure responses, we ask that you showcase your achievements and aspirations using your own voice. AI tools tend to lack the personal touch and authenticity we value in candidates for our scholarship awards, so if you are thinking of using AI when putting together your responses, please consider what value it would add.
Receiving payment
If your application is successful you will be sent an award letter via email and if you decide to accept the scholarship you will need to do so via your UAL Portal.
Your tuition fees will be raised directly to your fees account in the first year of your course.
For those studying part-time or extended full-time courses where your scholarship award may be more than your Year 1 course fee, the surplus will be used towards your Year 2 fees.
Additional Information
The scholarships are awarded slightly differently depending on the route you choose.
If you are awarded a scholarship and you have received offers for more than one UAL course, the award will apply to whichever course offer you accept.
If you have successful applications for more than one UAL award or scholarship, you must choose which of them you would like to receive, as you are only able to hold one at a time.
However, if you apply for both Routes 1 and 2, and are successful for both, you will be allocated the Route 1 Scholarship, and the Route 2 award will be rescinded.
