LCC summer break 2026: reduced opening hours and access

Summer term finishes on Friday 19 June for Undergraduate students and on Friday 3 July for Postgraduate students (exceptions apply).

Please note: the LCC building will be closed on Monday 31 August for the Summer Bank Holiday.

The LCC building will re-open as usual on at the start of the academic year, on Monday 28 September. Some postgraduate students will return earlier from Monday 21 September.

General building access

Monday 22 June to Sunday 5 July:

  • Monday to Friday: 9am–6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10am–4pm

Monday 6 July to Sunday 13 September:

  • Monday to Friday: 9am–6pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed

From Monday 14 September: the building will return to normal term-time opening hours.

Access for Students

Only specified areas will be open to students during the summer break period. There is no general access to the wider building, such as classrooms and Technical Resources, for students other than those listed.

LCC Information Centre

From Monday 6 July to Sunday 13 September:

  • Monday to Friday: 10am–4pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed

From Monday 14 September:

  • Monday to Friday: 9am–5pm*
  • Saturday and Sunday: Closed

*LCC Reception will be open from 8.30am.

Technical Resources

Undergraduate student access to Technical Resources

All Technical areas will remain open as usual for Undergraduate (BA) students until the end of term, on Friday 19 June.

After Friday 19 June there will be no access to Technical Resources for Undergraduate students until Monday 28 September.

If you have any questions about accessing any of the technical resources or require information about making a booking, please contact technical.enquiries@lcc.arts.ac.uk.

Postgraduate students (15-month MA) access to Technical Resources

Postgraduate students (MA and PGCert/Dip) will continue to have access to Technical Resources, bookable via Moodle until the end of the LCC postgraduate term, on Friday 3 July.

After 3 July, there will be no access to Technical Resources for students, with the following exceptions:

Postgraduate students (12-month MA) access to Technical Resources

Postgraduate students on 12-month MA courses will continue to have access to Technical Resources, bookable via Moodle until Friday 18 September.

Postgraduate Research (PGR) students

PGR students will continue to have access to Technical Resources, but access will only be granted after completion of the online Technical Resources PGR Custom Access Form so your support needs can be assessed.

Additional Access (outside term time)

To request access to technical resources outside of the term dates outlined, all students must complete the Technical Resources Custom Access Form.

Welcome Week

Welcome Week for Postgraduate students will commence on Monday 14 September and for Undergraduate students on Monday 21 September.
