Hot weather advice

Periods of hot weather are expected to continue throughout the summer. If you're attending campus during warmer weather, it's important to take a few simple steps to help protect your health and wellbeing.
High temperatures can increase the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke, particularly if you're travelling, spending time outdoors or studying on campus. We encourage all students to read the Heatwave: How to cope in hot weather guidance on the NHS website on coping in hot weather, including how to recognise the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness and how to stay safe.
Some course teaching sessions may be rescheduled due to the extreme heat, please check Moodle for updates.
Where high temperatures may affect course delivery, academic and technical colleagues may consider rescheduling teaching sessions or workshops, or making alternative arrangements where appropriate to support staff and student wellbeing. If Course Teams need to reschedule teaching or workshops, our Course Support Team will communicate changes to you via Moodle.
Travel and wellbeing advice
- Stay hydrated and carry water with you if you can, especially when travelling on public transport
- Check your routes before travelling via the TFL website or the TFL Go app as travel disruption is expected
- Speak to your Course Team if you have concerns about travelling to College, for example due to possible disruption, caring responsibilities, or if someone you support is vulnerable to heat
If you have questions or concerns Student Services are here to support you.
