London College of Communication has a range of inspiring collections covering typography, printing, book arts and zines.
All collections are accessible by pre-arranged booking via the Library unless otherwise stated.
The collection contains material relating to Four Corners Films,1970s-1990s, and includes letters, invites and press items. For related exhibitions please refer to Four Corners Films gallery space.
Catherine Arthur Collection
Arthur was a freelance publisher. The collection contains late 20th century books accumulated by Arthur, which reflect her long association with the printing industry. This is a reference collection of books appropriate to a professional print journalist, editor and bibliophile. It is also a personal collection, which serves to illustrate her love of the printed book and the wide range of her interests, skills and knowledge.
Decorated Books from the Netherlands
The collection contains Dutch books with decorated trade bindings from 1893-1939 and includes bindings in the Neuewe Kunst and Art Nouveau styles by contemporary Dutch artists such as P.A.H. Hofman, Jozef Cantre and Jan Toroop. The collection is available on the Visual Arts Data Service.
Edward Clark Collection
The collection contains research focusing on 20th century typography, and is a useful resource for the study into the history and current development of typography and related topics. The collection is named after the grant that allowed its purchase.
Gerard Pink Collection
Gerard Pink's collection of 50 books plus ephemera on the subject of paper, paper making, and printing history.
Historic Journals Collection
The collection contains journals from the 19th and 20th centuries (primarily 1920s to 1930s), which represent typographic and graphic design. Titles include British and Colonial Printer, Picture Post, Illustrated War News, Fleuron, Alphabet and Image, Colophon and London Mercury.
Photographic Exhibition Poster Collection
The collection contains posters dating from 1970s onwards and charts photographic exhibits and shows held at Photographers Gallery and Camerawork and Impressions Gallery, among others. Represented photographers include Bill Brandt (for an exhibit at the Barbican) and Diane Arbus (for an exhibit at Hayward Gallery). They are an invaluable record of the activities of photographers.

Printing Historical Collection
The collection contains items charting the history and art of the Western book, reflecting its physical, technical and aesthetic development from the 15th to 21st centuries. It includes a reference section which provides a guide to the changing processes of book production, a chronological section of examples displaying the physical and aesthetic changes to the book and a section devoted to private press, artists' books and fanzines.

Talwin Morris Collection
Morris (1882-1911) was a book cover designer and publisher. The collection contains books from the publishing house Blackie & Son, with covers designed by Morris in the Art Nouveau and Glasgow styles including the Red Letter Library series. There are also a number of books from Blackie's subsidiary firm, Gresham Publishing Company. Some images of items are available on the Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network.

The collection is an off-shoot of the Printing Historical Collection and currently contains over 3000 zines and fanzines. The collection contains zines primarily created within the 21st century although the oldest
zine in the collection dates back to the late 1970s. The zines are varied in topic, style and format. They cover art, music, photography, politics, personal stories and are A4 and A5, colour and black and white; handmade and printed. The collection continues to be added to.
